🏆 Selected by Google as Global Top 50
Created for the 2021 Solution Challenge, Google’s flagship competition for university students, as a team comprising two computer science students, an industrial design student, and myself.
The brief was to solve for one of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development goals. Our solution involved responsible consumption. We created an Android and iOS app, an admin website, and a purpose-built phone holder, over 2 months.
First Iteration
"LENSEI"
Lensei - Empowering you to make better decisions for the planet while shopping.
I taught myself the basics of UI/UX and Material Design, and the wireframe/prototyping software Figma. After more than 10 versions, this is the version we submitted for the first stage of the competition.

NOT JUST A REBRANDING!
We focused on creating a complete solution so that users don't potentially stop using the app once they already know the rating of products they usually buy, which was the problem with Lensei.
This time we also considered the supermarkets as a stakeholder, not just the consumer, as this is paramount to the success of this being used as a tool and ultimately, solving for SDG 12: 'Ensuring Responsible Consumption and Production'.
MY DIRECT CONTRIBUTIONS:
I came up with the new name and visual identity and improved upon my previous app UI, working with a Flutter developer, and experience to be more integrated with our physical product.
